USED TO BE VALENTINES
Used to Be Valentines is a pop punk band hailing from Pleasant Hill, CA. Growing up in the East Bay suburbs outside of San Francisco, lead vocalist, Niels Sorensen, spent his youth going to pop punk and metal shows every weekend at Red House in Walnut Creek. Seeing bands such as The Story So Far and Set Your Goals in their early years inspired Niels to start writing his own music and form his own bands that would also play in the local scene.
Niels Sorensen teamed up to write The Good Years album with long time friend and collaborator Marcus Simonini, lead vocalist of Another One Down!, over the course of 5 years.
The Good Years celebrates the fun and pains of growing up in suburbia and what it's like having some rude awakenings transitioning into adulthood. Used to Be Valentines music is characterized by fast upbeat driving guitar riffs, tight harmonies, powerful vocals, and dynamic pop punk songs. Pop Punk has always been in Niels Sorensen's blood and Used to Be Valentines is a standout band you don't want to sleep on.
